Understanding the PRINCE2^® Certifications Available

As mentioned above, there are 3 PRINCE2^® certifications available: Foundation, Practitioner, and Agile.

Here is a very quick overview of each qualification and its focus:

• PRINCE2^® Foundation

  This is your starting point for PRINCE2^®. The Foundation syllabus covers the key nuts and bolts of how PRINCE2^® works.

  You will become familiar with 3 out of the 4 elements of the methodology: PRINCE2^®’s 7 Principles, Themes, and Processes.

• PRINCE2^® Practitioner

  One of PRINCE2^®’s most appealing qualities is its ability to adapt to the requirements of a particular working environment or project.

  Following on from Foundation, the Practitioner syllabus zones in on this crucial 4th element of the framework: tailoring PRINCE2^® for a specific project’s requirements.

• PRINCE2^® Agile

  A newer addition to the PRINCE2^® family, PRINCE2^® Agile is steadily gaining in popularity.

  Although PRINCE2^® already works well alongside agile, this course focuses on teaching participants how to actively combine PRINCE2^® with Agile in project work.

Where Should You Begin?

We have found that the most frequent choice for students is to achieve PRINCE2^® Foundation and Practitioner at the same time.

Our 5-day PRINCE2^® Foundation & Practitioner course is a really effective way to cover both syllabi and achieve both qualifications efficiently.

• We split this course over 2 weeks, with Day 1 – 3 on the first week covering the Foundation syllabus.
• Days 4 & 5 on the second week are dedicated to the Practitioner syllabus.
• To keep things clear and simple, we include everything you need for training and certification in one course price.
• We include training, supportive course materials (slides, sample questions, accompanying documents), the official e-book manual, and both exams and certifications.

Want to Start With Just One Certification?

If you would prefer to just achieve one certification to begin with, our flexible training options can help.

Both our Foundation and Practitioner programmes are available as standalone courses.

For those who only want to achieve one certification, we recommend beginning with Foundation. It is important to start here, as:

• the Practitioner syllabus will not make much sense to you without having covered Foundation first.
• you cannot progress to achieving a Practitioner certification without having first achieved Foundation level.
